Over five days in August, ROC Creative took over the famous Spanish Barn at Torre Abbey and staged its summer art exhibition, which this year was entitled Starting The Thread. The exhibition used examples of ROC Creative's best photographic, video, mixed media, textile, music and storytelling work arranged around the idea of a journey through a virtual labyrinth and using references from the story of Theseus and the Minotaur.

There were costumes and props from the Facing North and the Court of the King sequences seen in Flashpoint Reload, labyrinth haikyu poetry, a practical art workshop led by John Platt in which visitors could take part, an extraordinary ambient soundscape written and recorded by Billy Bottle, and fantastic visual artwork such as textile photo prints, ceramic dream shrines, the Buried Treasure and Brit Love mixed media pieces and much more.

At various stations through the exhibition, visitors were invited to respond to a series of self-reflecting questions such as "What do you really want ?" "Why do you buy things ?" and "Who tells you what to do ?".

About 2,000 people came to see Starting The Thread over the course of the five days.
