Over a period of 8 months, Plymouth University photography student, David Morgan, documented the daily lives of the people at Boscawen Farm a working farm run by the charity Robert Owen Communities, featuring their every day work, their successes and challenges and the way people interact with the environment, each other and the community around them. The resulting collection of images was the basis of David’s successful final year degree project and has now been selected as the Autumn exhibition at Studio 61 Gallery. As a community outreach of Murdoch and Trevithick Centre in Redruth, the gallery aims to offer a platform for artists across Cornwall.

Farm Manager Debbie Evans commented ‘ We were delighted to co-operate with this project to share and celebrate the achievements of the people that work at the farm and to promote the benefits of care farming.’

Photographer David Morgan added ‘Having spent some time photographing people with learning disabilities in a ‘Day Centre’ environment, I wanted to show how at Boscawen Farm people are actively involved in running the farm, learning how to grow and harvest crops, feed livestock and selling the farm produce to the local community. I am indebted to the staff for their time and enthusiasm for the project’.

The exhibition runs from 4th – 22nd October at 61 Lemon Street, Truro 10.00am – 3.00pm. For more details telephone 01872 560530 or email boscawen@roc-uk.org
