The Mayor and Mayoress of Truro were guests of honour at ROC's Boscawen Farm on Friday 3 August. They were attending an event to celebrate the achievements of a group of people with learning disabilities.
The farm, based at Blackwater near Truro, offers a range of activities. Staff and users of the service held a 'Celebration of Achievement' evening at the St Day Enterprise Centre.

Councillor Ron Cooke was on hand to present the award certificates in front of an audience of families, carers, friends and supporters.

The Mayor and Mayoress were presented with a hamper of farm produce at the end of the evening.
Work at Boscawen Farm includes raising livestock, fruit and vegetables and running a farm shop to sell all the produce. Alongside this work the service offers accredited training courses, conservation and land management, woodwork, sporting and social activities and residential courses.
Debbie Evans, Enterprise Manager for ROC in Cornwall, commented ‘This has been a tremendous evening for everyone involved. We are all so proud of the progress and achievements at the farm over the last year.’ The event was also an opportunity to learn more about future plans for the farm which include a new orchard of Cornish apple varieties, a wheelchair accessible vegetable garden and a sensory garden. ROC will also be running a pilot project for Samba Band sessions in Redruth on Saturday mornings.
